HOW IS SAV-A-LIFE SUPPORTED?
Sav-A-Life of Montgomery is a non-denominational Christian ministry with 501c3 tax exempt status. There is no charge to our patients for any service they receive. Support comes from churches, individuals, local foundations, family businesses, and civic clubs. No government funds, either federal or state, are received. A portion of the proceeds from specialty license tags in Montgomery County is received each year.
While faithful monthly donors are the financial backbone of the ministry, one time gifts are also important to our ongoing viability. Special end of year gifts are critical to the ongoing ministry. We are also grateful to receive gifts throughout the year honoring friends and family members' birthdays, weddings, or other significant occasions, as well as memorial gifts remembering loved ones. All gifts are tax deductible.
The Board of Directors established a special endowment fund in January, 2008, to honor Margie McCarty upon the occasion of her retirement for her eighteen years of faithful service as Executive Director of the Sav-A-Life ministry. This endowment will enhance the fiscal strength of the ministry by creating a reserve fund through which earnings on the principal are used to augment annual budgets and to provide for designated ministry needs. The Board’s goal for the initial phase of the Marjory McCarty Endowment was $25,000. Contributions have exceeded this goal.

NEW ULTRASOUND MACHINE FUND
We are very thankful to own two ultrasound machines. They currently both work; however one probe on one machine can not ‘talk’ to the computer because of the board that translates the communication. The Shimadsu SDU-450XL is no longer made thus the manufacturer may charge an outlandish amount for the new parts. To replace this part the cost is over $10,000. The life span of both of our machines has passed. We have been advised to purchase a new machine and try to sell the old one for parts. The cost is over $22,000. The ultrasound has proven to be a major mind changing, life changing tool for the moms that we see. When we only had one center, Sav-A-Life, 47% of the clients changed their minds for life. Since using the ultrasound, more than 87% of our patients choose life.
ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENTS
BANQUET
Each year an exciting banquet attracts approximately 600 guests to hear about this vital outreach. Through the eyes of patients who have benefited from our services, guests gain a clear picture of the important mission of Sav-A-Life. Inspiring music and speakers, excellent food, and engaging fellowship round out the evening. New friends are made for the ministry.
Our 2011 Banquet will be on Thursday, October 27 with Bruce Wilkinson, one of the world’s foremost Christian teachers. Bruce is best known as the author of the New York Times Bestseller The Prayer of Jabez. He is also the author of numerous other bestsellers. Bruce and his wife Darlene have three children and six grandchildren. They live outside Atlanta.
The Sav-A-Life Banquet is supported through the generosity of individuals, foundations and businesses that have underwritten the cost of this event, making it possible for the funds raised tonight to go directly to the work of the ministry. We are very grateful to these benefactors for helping expand the impact of the Sav-A-Life Ministry.
DUE TO THE GENEROSITY OF UNDERWRITERS, THERE IS NO CHARGE TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. HOWEVER RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. If you would like to register for the event or are interested in being a table host, please call Melinda Stewart at 334-260-8010, send an e-mail to mstewart@firstchoicewmc.com.
